Winter 21/22
Just when you thought Covid was over, a curveball English variant stopped British tourists from entering France (for a while anyway) and we found ourselves in the 3rd season in a row affected by the virus and its restrictions. “Comment faire sans les Anglais?” (what will we do without the English?) was the headline…After tumultuous dumps in early December before the lifts opened in the valley, I was forced to lock myself up with someone who had Covid and lo and behold I stayed in my flat for over 3 weeks before resuming a relatively normal winter. Despite the obligatory pass sanitaire for going to bars, we had a lot of parties and lots more orange snow. Hoping to carry on from the previous year’s touring craze, it just wasn’t really the same so we made use of some great lift riding in Jan and Feb, took some trips to new spots and had some good park sessions as well as a new line ticked off for me in the shape of the Aiguille d’Entreves in springtime…
