Want to get into Splitboarding but not sure where to start? This splitboarding course is designed for you. If you don’t yet have your own stuff we can organise equipment for you to use* (board, bindings, poles and skins) and introduce you to a new way of looking at the mountain, at snowboarding. Share an unforgettable new experience with us.

This course is for the uninitiated splitboarder and will launch you into the backcountry environment, give you a fresh perspective and provide you with a new set of skills. The only way is up! You might just have to get some new friends…

Course Outline Example:

  • Day 1: Safety briefing and equipment intro, split skills practice/freeride in Chamonix

e.g. A couple of short tours to practise new techniques and freeriding at the back of Le Tour.

  • Day 2: Short split mission(s) + freeride in Chamonix/Courmayeur/Contamines

e.g. Splitboarding to Col des Dards in the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve. Freeriding at Flégère.

  • Day 3: Splitboard/Freeride day in Chamonix/Courmayeur/Contamines

e.g. Longer distance tour to Col de la Fenetre in Les Contamines, possible second tour.

Splitboarding is a weather dependent sport so of course, this outline is subject to changes due to weather conditions, avalanche danger, fitness, standard, etc, etc.

A technique day or a powder hounding day may replace a day touring if it’s more suitable. This will either be loads of fun or really useful to your riding- hopefully both!

Additional equipment list (see essential equipment list):

Basic avi gear: shovel, probe, transceiver,

Split board, bindings, poles and skins + bag, water bottle, sunglasses, hat, thin gloves.

* This will be at the cost of the guest, set ups are rented from our rental partner

This course requires a minimum of 3 people to run.
